Discover a Family Tradition of Great-Tasting Food

At May Sum Buffet Restaurant, we are proud to be an independent, family-run business dedicated to sharing the love of great-tasting food. Our journey began in 2002 with the opening of our first restaurant in Liverpool City Centre, nestled on the corner of St Johns Shopping Centre. Following its success, we expanded to Hull in 2004 and Derby in 2006, where we took over the famous Theatre House. In 2008, we opened our Nottingham City Centre location, which is now our only remaining restaurant.

Philosophy on Food

At May Sum Buffet Restaurant, we believe that food is at the heart of family meals. In Asian culture, meals are prepared freshly and served at the centre of the table, creating a shared dining experience. Guests are encouraged to gather around, with a bowl of rice and chopsticks in hand, allowing each person to choose their favourite dishes in no particular order. This tradition fosters a sense of togetherness, warmth, and joy, turning every meal into a celebration of family and friends. We are proud to support community and charity initiatives, including hosting coffee afternoons that bring people together.
